Biography of Mary Jane Brown Strong

.

My parents turned Catholic when I was in the 4th grade, while I attended Monroeville Public Schools.  In the 5th grade, I started school at St. Alphonsus in Peru.  In 1955, we moved to Norwalk and I started the 8th grade at St. Pauls.  I attended St. Pauls for 2 years, then transferred to Norwalk High.

I had 1 year of school to go, and received an offer to watch 4 kids, with 2 of them being sickly.  So I quit school and went to work for that family for 4 years.

After those 4 years, I went to work at Progressive Allied, and worked there 5 years.  In 1969, I went to work for Lustre Corporation in Huron, until they closed in 1973.

After that, I worked at Fanny Farmers, until they closed in 1995.  I was a union steward there for 10 years.

In 1995 I started working at Schilds IGA in Norwalk in the Deli Department, and retired in 2003.

I have vacationed in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, where my daughter has a condo.  And, I have also been to Mexico--which was a christmas gift from my daughter and ex son-in-law.

My husbands name is Richard.  I have a daughter named Robin, 2 step sons--Richard and Steven, 4 granchildren--Haley, Tyler, Gage and Colyn.

We live in Norwalk on Scarlett Queen Drive.
