Biography of Ed Englert
I enlisted in Ohio Army National Guard Sandusky Jan. 196l. I took basic training at Ft. Knox, Kentucky and advanced Artillery training at Ft. Sill Oklahoma. I was discharged from active duty Feb. 1965 at the E-5 rank.
I worked 1 year for Miller Pipeline Construction. In Dec. 1966, I purchased a 7-Up distributor franchise.
I met my wife-to-be, Mary Lou Meggitt, from Fremont in Nov 1971 We were married at Sacred Heart Church in Fremont , by Father Benedict Ringholz May 1973. Our daughter Jennifer was born in Feb 1974 (1992 SPH graduate) Our son Kevin was born Nov 1976 (1995 SPH graduate) We have 7 grandchildren.
We moved to our current home on Townsend Ave. in 1981. I retired from 7-UP as a District Manager in July 2002. I am currently employed part time at Fisher Titus Medical Center as a courier and at Woodard Photographic in Bellevue as a driver. Hobbies include fishing, gardening, and cruisin’ to classic car shows.
