Biography of Dick Boose

After graduation I attended BGSU Firelands Campus and worked at Deeble’s Service Stations.

I married my high school sweetheart, Charmaine Leber, in 1962 and resided in Collins for seventeen years.

Our son Richard, born in 1963, now lives in Newnan, Ga. with his wife Patti and daughter Paige. Paige will be a senior this coming school year term and has been active in Competitive Cheerleading for many years. Paige’s competitions have taken her teams to all the southern states, accumulating quite a trophy case. Her high school squad will be competing this year for their fourth Georgia State Title.

Our daughter Karen, born in 1965, resides in Norwalk with her husband Scott and daughter Kayla and son Christopher. Kayla graduated from Norwalk High this spring with honors and will be off to Ohio State University in the fall. Christopher will be a junior at Norwalk this coming fall and is on the tennis team.

In 1965 I joined Clevite in Milan, left in 1967 and rejoined them in 1968 retiring from Tenneco Clevite in 2006 while in Michigan from 1984-2006. Along the way in the 70’s I earned my Associates Degree from Lorain Community College in Business. We moved to Michigan in 1984 when I was promoted into our Sales Department and Charmaine was fortunate enough to find a position at Volkswagen of America at that time retiring after 21 years as Assistant to the Chief Financial Officer. We moved back to Norwalk in 2005 to Executive Village Court condo living but in 2008 realized we needed a project so we purchased our home at 46 Garcia Drive (built in 1964), remodeled it, and moved in that October. As projects go, we know that they are never done, so the tinkering continues now mostly with the yard. This residence is our tenth over our 48 years of marriage and should be our last.

Coming back to Norwalk, we joined the Eagles because they have good food. I am also a 4th Degree in the Knight of Columbus. We both belong to the Lions Club and are volunteers at St. Paul’s. I work now at Schild’s IGA for about 20 hours a week to keep busy along with everything else. We never thought we would ever move back to Norwalk after being gone all those years, but we love it here and plan to stay.

See everyone on the weekend of August 21st.
