It's history now - the 50th Reunion of St. Paul High School 's '60 grads!

On the weekend of August 20 - 22, class members met at three different venues to celebrate the event.

On Friday evening, the class met at Sarah Picket Hoffman's home for a picnic and visiting. You can see pictures of the gathering by clicking here.

Then on Saturday afternoon, the gang all met at the stomping grounds at St. Paul's. They toured the school at 3 PM, then attended a Mass for their deceased classmates at 4:30. The class then joined the rest of the Paulite grads after Mass for a cocktail party in the church Gathering Space, followed by a beautiful buffet dinner. After the dinner and speechifying were completed, class members stayed to vist and reminisce for a few more hours. You may view pictures of the frivolity by clicking here.

The weekend wound down on Sunday with a picnic in Sandusky, moved to Osborne Park after a rainy Saturday and threatening skies Sunday morning. Click here and view the fun.

Continued Meetings - Mini-Reunions

If you missed out on any of the fun this year, resolve to make the next one. The word is that the class is not going to wait a full five years, so look for future announcements. In the meantime, you can join your classmates if you're around town on the fourth Monday of any month. Those available usually meet at a watering hole somewhere in the area. We'll post the dates and venues here as they become available also.

The next gathering will be on Monday evening, March 28, at the K of C home on West Main Street in Norwalk. Spaghetti is served from 5 - 7 PM. Hope to see you there.

Call for Photos

An open invitation goes here for anyone to submit pictures to go up on line at this site for all the classmates to enjoy. Just write up a caption to accompany them so we can keep this a non-fiction site.

Class of 1960 Lore

Posted by Mike Heydinger on February 1, 2010  •   •

The Class of 1960 graduated 54 eager young scholars, the 50th class to graduate from St. Paul High School. Many of the graduates were second generation Paulites, graduating from a high school that their grandparents had built. The class had entered elementary school under the pastorate of Msgr. Hilary Weger in the fall of 1948 and saw but one other pastor during their school days: Father Yeager. Priest principals during their high school years were Fathers Arthur Badger, William Bodart, and Michael Ricker, both of whom are living as of this writing. Only one other of their high school teachers is still alive, Miss Eileen Wagner who lives in Sandusky.

Interesting Factoids about the Class.

Upon graduation, twenty-one grads entered college the following fall.

Twenty-eight grads entered the work force.

Four grads entered the military

Three grads married right away and began their families.

One grad, Bevery Miller, was killed during our graduation year in a tragic automobile accident.
