Biography of Pat Kinney Long
I have lived in Norwalk for all but four years of my life. Like everyone else, I can look back and say, “If I had only known, I would have made a few better decisions here and there." Actually, I can say life has not been too bad. Oh yea, that big lottery win, in my dreams. I have spent it several times over and it has never come my way. Yes, life would have been sweet with that big win.
We raised our seven children here and all of them live close by or several stones throw away. Life was quite hectic and seemed to stand still for awhile. You understand the daily chores of raising children: laundry, ironing, grocery shopping, cooking meals and doing the dishes without the shortcuts that are available today. The iron only comes out once in a while to make that seldom appearance. I am glad to say it still heats.
The kids have grown and gone their way and Ray and I are both retired now. I am still looking for those leisure hours that are synomous with retirement, but I think someone has found mine and are on vacation on that little lake side cabin. Maybe someone needs to redefine the meaning of retirement. I am still looking forward to the “free time.” Do you want to come along with me? Here is hoping that we have many years ahead of us to search.
